Character Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 8 Female

in The Commons
Im trying to convert the genesis 2 figure Miu Zen to genesis 8 and it seems unable to do so. I applied the shape to Gen 2, changed the parameter settings to modified/shape, and then saved the preset to a Gen 2 preset. I then tried conversion and get a normal G8 character.... I then went back and tried to load the genesis 2 preset character and that also loaded a normal genesis 2 shape with no Miu Zen morphs. Everything worked firn with the Domina character.
What am I doing wrong?

You might ask in the commercial thread for the product, as the product's creator often will help answer questions about the product there: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/388776/released-character-converter-from-genesis-2-female-to-genesis-8-female-commercial#latest
My experience was that everything has to be installed through the DAZ Install Manager. Before I did that, only the morphs installed through the Install Manager would convert and the other ones didn't. I uninstalled the characters from DAZ Connect and reinstalled them through the Install Manager, as well as the character converter. Then everything worked.
Thanks all. I was able to get the body morph to save as a preset and convert that. I was not however able to get the head morph to save. I had to break them up to be able to get the body morph to save. I appreciate all the help!
Really? Wow, if that is truem it's one hell of a restriction that I don't recall ever being mentioned in the product description. I've had far too much trouble with DIM to ever trust it again.
Although to be fair, I've only ever tried a couple of custom morphed figures with it, I keep meaning to try a DO character with it.
Well maybe it would work if everything was installed through DAZ Connect. I didn't try that because I was having issues where some of the products with encrypted scripts wouldn't work with DAZ Connect. Maybe normal people can get it to work.
I don't use connect, but I have done tests of conversions of items installed with it and they worked. The biggest limitation is that Connect makes it difficult to just point the script at one People directory and have the converter find everything. I just added items one by one.
I definitely don't use connect, I trust that even less than DIM. I'm a manual installer all the way, all the time.

I tried a DO character earlier and that worked out fine. I also noticed there's a custom morph script in the same folder as your main converter, so I'll give that a go for my custom characters. The only real issue now is that Belle 6 textures won't convert correctly with TTv2, I'm guessing because of they're their own UV's, but that's not your problem. Cheers for replying.
You're welcome!
