Daz Partnering With Optitex

So this won't mean too much for Daz users, as far as I can tell, but it's a sign Daz is working to expand its character user base. In the end, that should benefit Daz users, as well.

Partnering with Optitex.... again?
I guess it's going in the other direction now though
Interesting - but as other have said it didn't really bring the benefits to customers promised last time.
What/who is Optitex?
i guess theyre like clo3d?
i love how their products are just named things like "3d design illustrator" and "pattern design software" lol.
Just a reminder: http://www.optitex-dynamiccloth.com/FreebieDownload01.php
It's a company producing software for the fashion industry, from garment design to production (their suite includes tools to create actual patterns in different sizes from the model, and even cut actual fabric based on those patterns), including 3D visualization of each model and model collections. The dynamic clothing solution included in DS (not dForce, the older plugin) is based on Optitex technology.
So yes, similar to Clo3d for the garment design and 3D visualization part.
Ugh...Why Optitex and not Marvelous Designer?
JD
It just says optitex is usng DAZ 3D Originals models not that optitex is back to developing it's SW for DAZ Studio again. Those 16 pages of optitex clothes aren't too shabby by the way when you take time to position, fit/size, and drape them in the optitex plugin.
I have used the OptiTex clothing for years and it is very flexable, especially how it knows its own shape no matter how you have to move it to fit first. Both dynamic cloth systems in DS have their good and bad
I have a lot of Optitex clothing that I bought during 90% off V4/M4 sales, but I've never found the info on how to use it.
There are a couple of how tos on youtube.
I found OPtitex dynamics quite good, but the drapes have a tendancy to reset when fiddling with positioning, i mostly export the optitex garments as obj, re-import and apply dForce.
It will be interesting to see, what will come after that.

So its just Daz Studio content being used in OptiTex so that clothing creators can better represent their products and brands to clients.
Its not OptiTex to Daz Studio (round 2)
Probalby Optitex clothes and items will return to work in DAZ Studio. Lately i've tryed tu use them another time (have ever worked well, until DAZ 4.0), but in 2 different time hasn't worked more. When i've launche Drape (is how the Optitex call the simulation) the clothes and the items has going trought everything in the scene.
I think Little Black Dress is going to look great on my V4 figures when they get this working.
Have you been updating the Optitex plugin every time you update the DAZ|Studio program? (This only applies to the full paid version; the free version is included in the program installer, so you don't need to worry about it.) Some plugins — and this is one — are locked to the program version and will not work with any other program version. The final three numbers of the program version must match the final three numbers of the plugin version.
Their website is terrible.
Lots of arrows pointing here and there and slick graphics, client logos and no real answers...
Does this work like Marvelous Designer or is it more of a service?
I see no way to purchase the 3D software they say they have... It's seems like I need to book a consultation with a salesperson to get this info?...
I'm assuming those corporate logos are there because only Porsche, Coach and Zodiac Aerospace can afford it... but why or how did there come to be a page with DAZ/Poser freebies?
Very confusing.
I guess Optitex is completely uninteresting, unless you run an actual textiles fabrication business.
As a DAZ user I only care if this adds new funds to DAZ development, or if it takes away developer time. Generally, I see interoperability as a good thing, might indirectly improve other bridges like Blender (which I care about).
This is a very expensive software suite aimed at professional fashion companies which includes a 3D pattern modelling app. Price will depend on which module the company needs and how many users the company has.
Final 2, rather than 3, I am told
Ah, so it is — I keep getting that mixed up.
