It says $20.97. Why would it be free?

Yeah, I fell for that one too. No it isn't (and I have no idea what free item they are talking about in the email promo).

So where does materials wizard come in? That's a different product all together.

This particular sale is called the "Materials Wizard" sale because it's one of the items in the mix, apparently.  As is the bundle of Materials Wizard items.

And another vital question for me: What exactly is Materials Wizard supposed to be good for? There's quite a lot of text in it's description, but somehow - at least for me - it seems to be lacking in information about what I would be supposed to do with that product...

I'm more interested in whether a male version/addon is planned. It looks like it might be useful, but not quite as much if it's female only.

There's a video to watch in the product description.  It goes into it fairly well.

The OP and I were referring to the email which arrived with this promo. It reads like the MW is the free item ...

Yeah, adding the word "Get" would have been a better choice, imo. "Get a FREE Item" cool

No help for me - I'm not a visual guy... I prefer a text I can go back and forth within if I didn't understand something on the first attempt. Add to that, I'm not a native english speaker - as are some PAs - which makes understanding what is muttered often very complicated. And then there's the problem with some people having very... monotonous... voices, which make me having to fight sleep while listening to them.

Thanks for trying to be helpful, though :)

I think Daz is getting a bit lax with the use of the term "free"

If something is free, I should not have to buy anythings else to get is. wwwwhat this really is is "extra" as in "get an extra $50 of daz originals". You don't get them "free" if you have to by a $134 pro set to get them, and yes that was a generalization. I know this promo has no pro set and not daz originals.

...same here.  I love Skin Builder Pro, but there never was a male version.  I'd love to be  able to create fair, freckled, and albino skins for male characters as well.

The word that DAZ avoids is "Bonus" that is what this is.
Just doesn't have the same ring as "FREE" though.

while I realised it was advertising blurb which is not fond of full stops, and knew was a new line hence separate subject, I still would have expected an actual free item reading that, not an extra with another.

    Very misleading.

    Not cool.

Then again, the term free is often used inappropriately.

RiverSoft Art said in the Commercial Thread a male version is planned. There is more details over there.

Materials Wizard looked very appealing to me and even included a convenient video explaining it's fucntionality and extensability in detail. Nice way to make it an easy buy.

I think sellers should be helt to the promises they make, excluding fine print. If the car deal say the car is only $99 a month and only 60 payments and all credit accepted, Theyshould have to sell the car for $6000 over 5 years to everyone who comes in regardless of loss. If the say buy one get one free ans I don't need 2 give me the free one.

The promises they make are conditional on the criteria in the fine print being met.

The car payments are arrived at by calculating the net present value of that stream of payments over 5 years being equal to the desired cash selling price plus a premium to acount for credit risk plus an amount to cover adminisrative costs plus financing profit.   The net present value of $6,000 received at the end of the 5-year term is lower, and so isn't an acceptable substitute.

Entitlement to the one item is established once you pay the requested price of the other item.  It's not ordained by a higher power.

There should be no fine print. There should be some law that advertisements can't be misleading. Like, they shouldn't be able to loudly say you can get something and then have tiny print that says only certain people get it, or "this is what you really get". And they should not be able to say the 12-speaker sound system only uses 12 watts of power if that 12 watts is only with one speaker connected and the volume at zero. If you live in the Eurpoean Union then maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about. What was the subject anyway?

Which is, by deffinition, Not free. You have to pay for it. I am not advocating getting anything I am not entitled to. I am only asking that advertizers say what they mean and no revise the contract in the fineprint ot at the end of a TV  or radio add in that tiny superfast voice noone can follow. Why can't they simply say, 2 for the price of one instead of buy one get one free. One is not free, both are half price. ever worse now they just say BOGO and you find out after going all the way to the store ( we old people actually go to the store) thet they are calling BOGO buy one, get one for half off. And so long as customers are willing to accept a mere 25% discount when they are promised something free, this will continue.
