This is something I've never had happen before, I bought a model and when I imported it into DAZ it loaded as a bunch of blocks. The model was bought from DAZ in case anyone was wondering so it's compatible and the model was not in the DAZ directory.

Anybody else had this problem?

This is what happens when Studio cannot find the geometry info for a model. What was the model, how did you install it and where did you install it?

I have this same problem, I have just re-installed Daz 4.6 (64 bit) and I get a message saying can not find files, then when I click ok the model shows up in blocks, I downloaded and installed everything using the daz studio managers.

The only figure that loads in is Aiko 3, when I go the contents sections almost every thing displays a yellow or red square with this symbol in it ( ! ), any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance

    Same problem with loading Norma.
Get a pop-up with a list of files DAZ says it cannot find.
I also just updated using DAZ manager.

The DAZ Install Manager (DIM) installs all user content by default into the following path

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

You need to go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and make sure that the path shown above, is listed as BOTH a DAZ Studio Formats AND Poser Formats library in that section.

I had a look at this and it looks about what you said, however everything is empty, I located the main folder on mt c drive but when I looked inside most of the sub folders are missing, studio-my library-runtime all no show, I have just re-installed daz 4.6, do you ahve any additional advice please, everything showing up as blocks is the reason I re-installed daz in the first place, I also lost everything that I had been working on for the last 6 months.

Inside the 'My DAZ 3D Library' folder, there will be no folders called 'studio' or 'My Library'. There will be a Runtime folder if you installed any Poser Content of any kind.

everything showing up as blocks is the reason I re-installed daz in the first place, I also lost everything that I had been working on for the last 6 months.

The reason for the blocks, is that DS cannot find the 'data' folder for the installed content. This would suggest that you do not have the folders set up correctly in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager.

You should not have lost any content at all, since DS does not uninstall content at any time, when reinstalling the application. Content is NEVER touched when upgrading or reinstalling DAZ Studio.

If the models that are showing as blocks are Genesis models, and you installed them using DIM, then they will be installed correctly. The only problem must be that DAZ Studio does not know where they are due to the Content Directory Manager not having them listed.

If you are not sure what to do, pleas post a screenshot of your Content Directory Manager with an expanded listing of BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats.

Here is the Content Directory Manager set up to use both of the default content paths properly.
The Top folder in the list is the Content folder created on the exe install of DAZ Studio 4.5+
The second folder is the DIM content folder created by the default settings in the DAZ Install Manager (DIM)
As noted in the image below for content to work properly both must be mapped and both must be mapped
as a Daz Studio Format content folder and also as a Poser Format content folder.
