I read everything there was to read about it and I actually think I know less about it now than before I knew it existed.

+? They're trying to squeeze even more money out of us? I'll probably have to stay with the regular...as long as I can even keep that up.

Yes, but this is FREE if I opt in. Decisions, decisions.

Yes, the first hit is always free. :-P

I'm not convinced it's a good value. The better quality PC items are higher priced. As someone in that thread calculated, the higher priced ones will then cost about $5.09. That's a $3 increase. And that's if they don't raise the base price of those items, which they've been doing for a while now, little by little. Buy two of those and you've wiped out the savings on a PA product that normally costs $19.95 (30% off would be approximately $5.98). And I wonder if the purchase of one PC item to bring the cost to the minimum $18 would be allowed.

I am keep getting calls from a number. I finally answered it and it said that I have a grant of X amount. I do not know much details about it but something does not sound right about it. Why would I receive just phone calls for a grant if it was real? Won't it be coming in the mail instead of keep bugging me with phone calls?

Just hang up. It's a scam. They often are. It's like the ones that tell you you've won a vacation trip, there's always a catch.

I usually do not answer numbers I do not recognize.

Sounds like a phishing scam. I advise hanging up, and blocking calls from the number if they persist, Kulay.
I don't know of any grants that you don't have to specifically apply for.

That's the other thing...I got one of those free vacation calls just the other day. They said that I won a sweepstakes that I entered. I never entered it! It was an outright lie!

    I have the ESCoRT:
    Scout
    Scout texture pack
    Dog
    Weazel
    NDN
    NDN Texture pack
    and Recon

It was a good sale! :P

Did you ever have one of those days you just want to grab the rest of the hair you have and pull it out while screaming as loud as you can?

You have my total sympathy. Sometimes work and non-work circumstances conspire to form a perfect storm of suck, and then all you can do is bang your head against the wall until it goes away.

Complaint: ffs X( - 12 hrs ago I looked at the "Dark Sisterhood" bundle and it contained three items (the character, the outfit, and a pose set) for $20 which was supposed to be 51% off... so I purchased just the outfit and the sewers (which didn't turn up as "free" as a result of the 40-something 'punches' I was supposed to have accrued) for something like $17... and now I see the sewers have been added, the price for the bundle has now turned to $0.00, and I really can't be bothered with a support ticket blah blah blah >_<. I'm also just waiting for the Disney lawyers to wake up and pull the other product that I purchased (has happened before with that vendor, had to get in fast to get a certain Croft set before it was disappeared)...</p>

@Kulay: definitely sounds scam-worthy to me - perhaps google for the establishment that they claim to represent, and see if it's an institution that anybody has ever heard of?

@SY: head-wall-banging? sounds like a worthy option right now (>_>)||

On a positive note, at least it's Friday! \(^_^)/

complaint: am helping my relative troubleshoot his Windows 8 tablet. some trouble shooting guides say: "Click the start orb, then click control panel or run." Um... the tablet PC doesn't have a start orb. Some say: "Press Windows Key and R." Uh.. the touch keypad doesn't have a Windows Key. :p I'll write the authors an e-mail if I can find their addresses.

    windows 8. :shut:

You'd rather throw away $17 than file a ticket? I'll take that $17 if you are giving money away!

Ideally the suck. Heads are hard to replace, in my experience.

+1 Absolutely block those calls. They're looking for info so they can scam you. You don't know to get involved with them.

A few years ago my doctor was trying to get me on meds for high blood pressure. Around then is when I first noticed the pulse in the ear on my pillow. It may have been there to a much lesser degree, but it's not something I ever paid attention to. But it became more prevalent. I tend to think that most people don't really notice it when it's not enhanced by high blood pressure, because it's something that's always there in the background. Things like that you get used to and ignore. It's only when they get more pronounced that you notice and ask questions about it, like she did. I remedied mine by stopping ibuprophen. I had been taking two every day to mitigate inflammation in my knee. Then I was rear-ended on an exit ramp, and had pain, and the doctor prescribed 800mg. of ibuprophen for the pain, and complained about my blood pressure. Then a friend suggested I look into what ibuprophen does. I found that it, along with all NSAIDS, has a particular side effect...elevated blood pressure! I stopped taking it all, and just put up with the pain. When I returned to him for a follow-up, my blood pressure was acceptable to him. I then chewed him out for not thinking about the NSAIDS side effects. He admitted that perhaps he should have considered the ramifications, "...but not everyone reacts to medications in the same way."

    Dana

...yeah and for arthritis the only "legal" OTC medication are NSAIDS as they do reduce joint inflammation (Acetaminophen doesn't and also has deleterious effects on the liver). Many of the prescription grade meds have other undesirable side effects, some which often make just putting up with the pain and stiffness the better choice.

    ...yes, like today.

Packaging engineers must be a sick & twisted lot. Picked up one of those 'payas you go" phones and card. The phone, charger, battery, & such are encased in one of those sealed hard plastic blister packs that look like they are supposed to simply pop open but really don't. Spent about 30 min trying to figure out how to open it without either slicing my hands up or damaging the contents, but to no avail. They make this stuff so "tamper and theft proof" these days that it is impossible to open for anyone, even the customer who pays for the product contained within.

It's like those "child resistant" pill bottles. A 5 year old can open them but for us older folks (especially if you have arthritis) forget it,

"Fetch me a child of 5, I need to take my meds again."
