How to mirror a smart prop (I think)

Hi.

Been looking at the Tooth and Bone: Savage Accessories for Genesis 2 Female and I really like it, but the armband is only on the right arm and I want one for the left as well.

Is there any way I can copy and mirror a prop like this so that it's the same armband, just swapped over to the left arm?

Thanks!

did you try to simply parent it to the corresponding opposite body part?

Don't own it yet - want to - by my OCD freaks that there's no mirror in the default set - hoping it's an easy thing to mirror like this???

If it's a parented prop and the figure pose is zeroed you could try aligning a null to it (Create>New Null, select the Null and then the prop in the scene, in the Align pane set all axes to centre). Parent the prop to the Null with Parent in Place on. Select the Null, invert the X translation and the Y and Z rotations (change plus to minus or vice versa), assuming that lines up on the other arm parent the prop to the arm bone, again with Parent In Place on.

Thanks - sounds like a lot more work that I imagined a simple mirroring - need to think how much I want it - hopefully it'll be on sale a while longer while I decide...

  • Oh, FWIW it's a Daz Original, I sent in a ticket, but since it's Genesis 2...we'll see...
