Content DB Editor changed?

I wasn't able to find a thread about this, nor was it mentioned in the change logs, at least for 4.12. I didn't spend a ton of time editing metadata before I started producing my own content, so I'm not even sure when this happened, but now when I go to edit metadata, the Content DB Editor window only has a single tab, and it apparently doesn't export metadata like it used to. Is this a setting that I haven't discovered yet? Is this something that was quietly changed and I just didn't notice?

I'm on 4.12.1.118 and 4.12.2.6 beta.

    You get the full, two-tab pane from a Product view, either in Content Library or Smart Content.
