Best 3DL Character Skins/Shaders?

It seems to be the general consensus that BlueJaunte characters have the best Iray skin textures/shaders, hands down.

In your opinion, which characters offer the best skin texture/shaders for 3Delight users? (That's right... there's still a few of us left. cheeky)

There weren't all that many skin shaders specifically made for 3DL/DS... though there was one called skin gen 3 that gave great results in Poser.   As far as skins go... I'd have to say that the skins that I got the very best results with in 3DL were some V4 skins made by danae and Maddelrium (both over at Renderosity), but both were set up for poser and needed some adjustment for optimum performance in 3DL.  That said, it's really going to depend on the lighting that you use, and for that I strongly recommend Age of Armor's Advanced lights as a base for any 3DL work.

Well, as I see it, any textures that don't have baked in shadows and highlights are the best. These can be used by any 3DL shader in any environment and still look good. If you by best mean most realistic, hands down aweSurface, if you mean the fastest rendering for animation, hands down the DS default shader:)

So if I'm learning how to optimize 3Delight settings for character skins (luminance, bump/displacement/normals, ambient or lack thereof, etc.) there are no PA artists that could provide ideal reference points?

AoA's lights are outstanding but provide no magic bullet if skins are not properly optimzed first.
