  • I used Hard Drive Mechanic Gold to recover some hard drives.

I agree that tou should take the drive out of the case.

Now I use BackBlaze as they allow an unlimited number of external drives for $60 a year.

I had this happen in the early days. So clumsy the portable WD actually flew out of my carry back only to land in the parking lot @ work on the pavement! I had failed to back it up. Re installed from scratch. Now I have them on a 2T portable WD AND my newly installed 2T SSD on my monster rig @ home...

Happy for you! A friend who has two websites, after he updates them, he downloads a copy of each site and makes copies of not only his sites, but also all his Google docs and all computer files on his computers; then makes two more sets of backups. Every Sunday. And that is with a routine backup program running daily.

Thanks all! Lots of ideas and encouragement. I will see what I can do :)

    ↑ thats a (German) Video.

Try Subtitles. Windows just releazed a Tool for deleted files, MAYBE that can also work.

AND don't get scammed/betrayed from Companys, who say they restore your data for some hundred €/$! A lot are scammers, even outside of the internet!
