carrara 8 crashing

Carrara 8 is crashing on me all of a sudden- and I haven't changed my computer recently. It just started hanging and not responding. I can't even open a new blank document. I uninstalled it and re installed it. I turned my computer off then on again.
I had to re install carrara 7, although I can't find the content pack for it. Doesn't seem to exist on the website either.

And ideas?

    I am having the same problem - especially when using DAZ Genesis - is this going to be resolved anytime soon?
