Daz Studio render remaining time

Would be nite to have a remaining time when you're are rendering, not only elapsed time... or at least it would be in "Render settings" tab.
It would help you giving an idea of how long will take to render completly based in the settings you made.

The trouble is DS doesn't know how long the render will take, especially with Iray

Exactly. Iterations don't take a uniform amount of time.

Also, there isn't really a rigid relationship between the Iray stop conditions "number of iterations", "render time", "convergence %" and "this render looks good now". The last of those measures is entirely manual and is actually the most important one.

You get a better idea with experience.  You also get an idea of what kind of flaws you can and can't fix with post work.  Sometimes you'll get a perfectly useable image that, on the surface, doesn't seem to be half done rendering.

There is, for iray, SSIM https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/5534391/#Comment_5534391 which should give a better idea of progress than the convergence percentage.

That's sort of a solution, but it reserves a lot of VRAM.

Yeah, the idea is a remaining to a complete render (100% in the case) based in the number of samples when you are not using the "max time" parameter. If you want to stop before the coplete cycle, quality is very subjective!

I know! Today I do a rule of 3 with the number of samples and time, it gives me an idea of the time remaining.
