Exporting as OBJ with scale fixes

So I've imported some obj files that are the wrong size and not centered. I've adjusted them using scale and x/y/z translate to my liking. I then export to obj again, but when I reimport, it's the original size/placement. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the scale and orientation match, and that you are importing the modified version? Exporting as OBJ usually bakes any transforms

Actually, I think DS was bugged. I restarted and everything works ok now for me. Thanks!

Not saying this is what happened in your case, but it's worth mentioning that it could have been a result of what you named the .obj file (if it's the same as a .duf file except for the extension).

For example, consider the case where the .obj file you exported is "xyz.obj" and there is also a scene file saved as "xyz.duf". In this case, File->Import and selecting the file "xyz.obj" will result in DS loading the file "xyz.duf".

This has happened to me before and made me think I was losing my mind lol.

PAs import and export obj to and from DazStudio countless times, on a daily basis. DS works exactly as expected.

Not really sure what this means. I haven't had problems with obj import/export before, until I did. Turns out the program got bugged, and I don't know why; thankfully everything is working now.
