proper method to re-import a mesh (obj) into clothing

ok so i searched and searched and thought of it from different angles and i got nothing

everything talks about exporting from daz3d, to blender - yes.

then when its time to re-import into daz 3d there literally is nothing.

yes the OBJ will load properly in the proper scale and place BUT - i need to swap it into the literal "mesh" that i exported

i was looking at if i could copy all the parameters from the original to the new OBJ/mesh import

or if i could drop the OBJ/mesh into the stack that is the clothing ?

i think its literally just a decal thats on the clothing - but if i have to walk through it by hand that is not some fine user interface design

theres like 150 things i have to look at to establish if thats needed in the new import ?? i think ??

Have you added to or taken away from the dress, or just pushed the existing geometry around to change its shape?

  • definitely did not do a morph the tutorial covered that

just did trimmed off the top inch right now i got a couple mods i need to do but i was taking a break to test the import

and like theres nothing whatsoever on how to link the mesh back in

If you have modified the mesh topology then the only real optiion is to use the Transfer Utility (Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility) to rig the new OBJ (select as Target) from the original clothing (select as Source).
