How to add stains to clothing.

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,398

I was wondering how I would go about adding things like sweat stains, coffee stains, I dunno...mustard, things like that to clothing. I know there are products that are similar but I want to be able to make my own, customized, whatever I want, where ever I want. I've worked with decals before but I was hoping for something I could actually add to the material map. Has anyone had any success with this sort of thing?

it's called photoshop, LOL For personal use just open up the texture for the clothing you are using in photoshop or GIMP and learn to do it yourself. There are probably tutorials online

I would suggest working on a "copy" of the originals, not to mess up the paid for content.

Use layers, so G.I.M.P., PhotoShop, PaintShopPro and similar type programs can all perform the required tasks. Have a clear layer above the texture, add the stains, save out a .png [or .tiff] for best results. Ugly things can happen when saving as .jpegs.
