Fatal Error: Access of invalid tag (with random code) - [SOLVED]

I keep ruunning into this error. Seems that something I added to a figure, who didn't exhibit this behavior before, is causing me to have the issue. In all of my seven years of using Studio, I've never encountered this before and it's happened all morning now! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Update: Apparently, I created an Iray Decal Node and didn't properly edit it (or something) which, I assume, caused it to look for values that didn't exist. As of now, this issue has been corrected.

So this is Daz Studio? When does it happen? What happens afterwards? If DS crashes, is it straight to desktop or do you get a crash report?
DAZ Studio Pro, 4.12.1.117. Usually happens after changing a texture or shader and switching from Viewport (Texture Shaded) to Aux Viewport (Iray Preview). When it happens, there's no crash report. Just the image above and then CTD.
How about the log file
%AppData%/daz 3d/studio4/log.txt
Yeah, just happened again (was doing some work then switched from Viewport to Aux Viewport and then got the error with a different code and the log file in that location says this...

Do you have items parented to a null? That should work, just wondering if the null in the message might refer to somethiing in the scene or if it means there's an object being passed that doesn't exist (producing a null pointer in coding terms).
Interesting. I'll have to check the figure, because it is specific to her as I;m in another scene and have yet to have any sort of crash like that.
Of course, I don't know where to begin because nothing stands out.
Edit: Yeah, I've centered it down to a specific character, but I don't see any empty nulls.
Edit 2: Perhaps it was a decal I added and never removed (I applied textures, but they weren't showing up — obviously didn't set it up right). In any event, it has just been along for the rider and I forgot about it (it wasn't with the previous version of the character ). Maybe that was it! We'll see.
Edit 3: Been a bit now and no more crashes. That Decal may have very well been the issue!
I've had this happen now twice today, first time I've ever had it. My tag code was 9117.
I got it when it both time when I was in Iray preview mode and I took a scene set I had and moved its y translation down. I have items parented to the main room prop, and I also have an Iray decal being used on the main room prop.
I got this code:
2020-07-11 22:08:25.897 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(353): Iray [FATAL] - DB:DATABASE :: 1.0 DB db fatal: Access of invalid tag 9117
Using any Decals?
Yes. There is one Iray decal sticker parented to the main room prop.
That could be your issue. Mine turned out to be a decal.
Lord, I hope that's not the case. It makes the Iray decals pretty worthless if they're going to crash your system because they're parented to something.
For some odd reason, across multiple builds, I've had issues with decals.
No offense, man, but I don't know if I'd marked this as "solved". The Iray decal not working correctly is still a problem.
No offense taken, because that was my issue (you should always mark when you've solved something so anyone with a similar problem can come back and look for it). The issue was mostly on my end, because I created a decal and didn't finish editing it, leading to values the compuer couldn't work with. Sure, it may be a bug, but it was not the fault of the creator(s) of decals.
Now, decals themselves having issues is another matter (yes, I haven't been able to use them without some form of problem) and not related to this AFAIK.
I never had that error message before but it happened to me a few times today. Seems to be related to the latest update. Not sure what cause though..
I can confirm that this is down to decals (once again). Haven't added decals since this day in July and now, today, I tried to add a decal and BAM! Access of invalid tag shows back up! If you are having this issue, check your scene for decals and now all we can do is hope for an update (I submitted a Support Ticket back in July and never heard a word back).
I've been getting this same error when I attempt to rotate my viewport in iray mode with Freya 8, no decals.
