Mac OSX Performance

Just a question about DAZ on Mac OSX. I find the program runs often very sluggishly. Especially when loading new things. I looked at the tutorial videos on DAZ and the guy is flying around the screen changing things and this highlighted that my DAZ is having problems.

I'm using a brand new Mac Pro (Late 2013 model) 6-core with 32 gig of RAM, Dual AMD D-500 FirePro graphics, each with 3 gigs of video Ram. Also I have an SSD drive in this thing so disc access is super fast. So, as you see, my computer is no slouch. Yet DAZ is painfully slow to move cameras around. I find that moving cameras is often very jerky, and can take forever to move a big distance.

Some times the program seems to find it's groove and everything is nice and fast but often a scene that has a room and a few things in it can just crawl. Render time also seems slow when compared to the tutorial vids.

So, what gives? Is DAZ just written to work well in Windows? Or am I missing some performance setting .. Ram caching .. multithreading .. anything?? that will make this work like I see in the tutorial vids .. I can't see any reason why my compute shouldn't get that kind of performance.

thanks,

Scott

    DazStudio>Preferences>Interface(tab)
    how is yours set up?

you also should keep in mind those video's may have been paused during CPU intensive operations that would affect the interface.

Yep that did it .. seems the display optimisation is a big deal. DAZ is now working very smoothly, thanks.
