how to smooth parts of a modified mesh

hey so i did manage to find a few ways to go about slicing up some clothes so they would have the appropriate look

literally did not want to do this on my own but the end result might end up looking like a couple - what - polygons?

like literally going to modify it enough it might look silly simple

however - vertexes edges faces whatever those are, i know all the parts i just dont know daz3d - yeh see i had to do a different type of selection

than the what, bisect tool? that one does something extra i guess when you select loops inner region?

then delete vertexes?

but see that doesnt work all the time i cant do a region selection so i had to select other ways

and now i guess theres jagged faces man i dont know what to call it

i need quick simple solutions to this , literally this should be 9th grade level kind of acess to modify an item of clothing

its kinnnnnnda like that already, if u write the 3step things down on paper theres really only 2

I'm not entirely following, but I think you are wanting to do editing that's a bit beyond what DS will do - try Hexagon (though I'm not sure you can do what you want and preserve the UV mapping) or Blender instead.

  • oh hell this is the wrong forum isnt it im doing the back and forth with daz and blender this is for blender oops

Ah, well then you'd need to slice the polygons across to avoid the stair-stepping - without destroying the UVs. Then you can delete the stuff you don't want. I can't give you exact steps, though - sorry.
