Victoria Generations Event : Show me your best Victoria renders!

Hi folks,

I'd very much like to create a live webinar event (it would be free entry - allowing anyone to participate) celebrating the versatility and longevity of the Victoria 4 (and beyond) 3D figures. I think it would be a fun AND a nostalgic event, but it would also underline the fact that some artists are still using this older generation figure and content for a few purposes. For example older generation characters are good for background figures and animation for example (less resource hungry).

Widening the subject matter to ANY generation figure of Victoria (we're looking at 20+ years of history) could be good, since looking at some of the very earliest "Millenium Woman" artwork is quite a "blast from the past". Widening the topic like this could help us see the evolution of 3D character figures over the years and also see what artists are creating with current Victoria 8.

I will most likely run this event on Saturday the 1st of August.

So here's some questions for you :-

Do you still use Victoria 4?
What are some of you favourite Victoria 4 (or later generation) Vicky vendors?
Do you have some nostalgic or up to date Victoria artwork that we could help celebrate this particular generation character?

Would love to see some of your nostalgic artwork as well as your thoughts on this.

Do you still use Victoria 4? Not really, but not because I don't find her still useful I just have so much new content that I have purchased that I feel I need to use that content. I have converted some things from V4 to G8F.
What are some of you favourite Victoria 4 (or later generation) Vicky vendors? Aeon Soul BadKittenCo OOT Maddelirium Fabiana Sabby among many others
Do you have some nostalgic or up to date Victoria artwork that we could help celebrate this particular generation character? I have several nostalgic but I will have to post them later when I can get to my desktop computer.

V3 Goes Bond

I know it's not a great picture, but it is one I love. It was an event that happened to me, and the cat shown in it was my dear old Albert who died in 2004 so maybe that's why I like it so much. I made a Poser4 Cat texture as much like him as I could, though the Poser4 Cat couldn't morph into anything like his shape (he was like a soccer ball with a cat front & back end attached). Anyway, I was in my bedroom & heard a crash somewhere else in the house and then Albert suddenly bolted into the room, and without stopping ran up my front and hugged my face. For a few seconds all I could see or breath was cat stomach. I first posted the image on Renderosity on 15 July 2006. The figure is Jim Burton's Glamorous Vickie 3 (A V3 varient) as I saw no reason not to improve on the rather unattractive reality of what I look like. Think it was rendered in DS 0.7.

Then, after updating her materials etc, I think my 'best' might be [G]V3 in Willow Creek, from earlier this year.

I have posted 2 V4 images both in 2007, but don't use her now as I honestly can't see any advantages for using her over G8F varients. I still use the two V3 models I have (GV3 and Blackhearted's 'Girl Next Door 2: Athletic') in limited poses where their joint limitations can be disguised. And the reason for keeping with such elderly models is, frankly, I have seen no compare for their shapes since they came out. They are sufficiently good to persist with despite the problems. And I like a challenge.

I started with V4, and my primary gaming character was built on a V4. I recently converted her to Genesis, simply for the opportunity to autofit newer clothing options to her... but she doesn't quite look the same. V4 was capable of a great deal more than people give her credit for :-) She has the best variety of clothes and hairs, and she is still an amazingly affordable and flexible character base.

I still use her to take advantage of some sets that don't work with other generations, and Surreality was my favourite vendor. This render is a couple of years old, now, but it's still my favorite.
