Rename shaders

This seems like a really simple thing, but I don't see an intuitive way to do it. How do you rename textured attatched to an object in Studio?

From the Content Library you can right-click in icons' field and "browse to folder" ... find the shader preset AND its icon and rename them. Do not rename real shaders, the presets will be looking for them.

Alternatively, say for eg. if you have altered the preset's application of textures to the model, you can File > Save As > a Material Preset. Then you have the original still as well as your new mat file.

you mean the texture as in image maps or the shader channel?

the first you just load a new texture under the diffuse, bump etc channel with a new nane

the latter, only way I personally know is a miserable way,

rightclick select by surface with the geometry editor and assign it to a new surface and name it,

    clear selection rinse repeat

with lots this gets very old fast angry

then you need to open tool settings and delete all the old empty channels

honestly editing the duf and dsf files in notepad ++ might be easier devil
