So I have been trying to save a character preset so I don't have to keep recreating my model. However, be it opening an old scene or bringing the character into a new scene the Daisy 8 model keeps defaulting to the Genesis 8 Female.
It's just a bit frustrating to have to keep remaking the entire character and can't save my work properly.
Any help would be appreciated!

You can edit your post and re-select which forum it goes into. The Commons would be a better area to ask this question as Character Presets do not involve Hexagon.
Okay, Daz Studio Discussion, even better ;-)
Moved to Daz Studio Discussion as it is not a Hexagon question.
This isn't actually solving your problem - but saving the character as a "Scene Subset" would probably serve as a reasonable workaround. I started doing that after I realised that 1) I was getting very confused as to what all the different pre-sets were for and 2) I wasn't trying to share my stuff with anyone so it didn't matter if my thing wasn't in the "right" preset. Now I use Scene Subset for anything that isn't actually a pose.
Another advantage of using Scene Subset is that it allows you to save dForce or mesh hair and eyebrows, eyelashes, anatomical bits, clothes, props etc. all in one go. You don't even have to parent the extra saved stuff to the figure (although it's generally considered A Good Idea™), just take care in selecting what gets included in the save. A Character Preset only works on one figure.
