hi ;)
first of all i'm glad to see the bridge between daz and blender, Mitchy did an incredible job and i'm glad daz is aware of that.
secondly I would like to know if daz plans a bridge between daz and character creator 3? it is possible to import to cc3 at the moment but without the genitals, which implies that the characters are not completely imported...
in advance thank you

Daz usually doesn't announce future features, so even if there were plans they probably wouldn't tell.
I'd guess (note I'm guessing) that if they had plans, chances are it would already be included.
... But never say never
Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but after instaling the Blender Bridge via DIM, I lost all of my icons on my other custom actions in the script menu :( Very aggravating.
Can't CC3 import the rigged FBXes that the DAZToBlender plugin creates? I thought cross platform interprogram compatibility was the whole purpose of FBX?
Hi,
It seems that the Daz to MAX bridge doesn't solve the problem of negative-sliders morphs, they still don't export.
Isn't it?
This awesome I own Maya and lightwave and have downloaded blender to export into daz now I can go both ways
Hmm .. anybody know why it might not show up in Blender (latest version installed)?? It doesn't show in the Add-Ons within Blender like the little video tutorial accompanying the Bridge says it should ....
Go to the product page of the plugin in your My Library listings online and at the bottom are instructions that say how to install the Blender portion of the plugin.
thanks for the answers ;)
I got an e-mail from mitchy
i quote " However, the Prop of Renderotica cannot be installed on the version published on the Daz3D site. This is a policy of Daz3D "
why prevent the user from using the props on this site ?? does daz think that more people are going to buy pro bundles to get unusable genitals ?? is daz aware of how easy it is to make a genital merge in blender ? the only thing it brings is extra work for the buyer...
it's for the same reason that i stopped cc3 "importing your complete daz characters into cc3" but actually no, not the genitals, you never know, it could give a bad image to a company, genitals are part of the human body and i don't see the problem... how many sculptures or paintings are naked people around the world ? art exists in many forms and it makes me very angry to see judges dictating their laws...
But does it go the other way as well? Can it send things back from Blender?
I didn't try but I doubt there is a blender to daz bridge, that would assume there is an option in blender --> send to daz (maybe i dont know)
but there's always the usual method, import obj in blender, modify the mesh without destroying a single vertex, export it as obj, and via morph loader pro apply it to the figure concerned
no
Since it still works with the Daz Anatomical Elements (I assume) it obviously isn't a problem with those per se. It may simple be that they are third-party content
Seems to be some confusion about this - I got the impression from reading the threads today that this new Blender bridge does not support geografts (yet?). Also - what Genesis generations does it support?
I'm not super knowledgeable on Blender, but I don't think it supports geografts in the way that DS uses them. Blender is geared towards users that make their own stuff so third party geografts probably weren't a big priority. If a Blender user wants to add something to a figure, they press E and begin extruding.
There certainly are stores that sell Blender content, but most users I've talked to model, rig and animate their own figures.
I am no expert on Blender. Hoping one can paint on the model but so far haven't discovered the method therein.
However did discover how to get a G8M with G to load in Blender. In D/S select both G8M and his equipment, use the first Daz to Blender bridge option [not the one mentioning his genitals, that just hides them], then in Blender open that sidebar and click to load the new figure. Click on the blue option to load the figure too - when the cursor turns to tiny numbers, wait patiently while it loads the figure. Then zoom out to see the figure. In checking the mesh, one will find a duplicate of the genitals. I checked the mesh in Hexagon.
I wasn't talking about Blender supporting geografts, I meant that the new bridge doesn't appear to transfer them (at least that's what I've gathered from the various conversations today). The Diffeomorphic DAZ Importer does handle geografts and has instructions on how it works. So Blender can work with them. Richard mentions (above) that the DAZ Anatomical Elements also work and they are indeed geografts so that's where my confusion arises.
Diffeomorphic will imort geographs fine. This new plugin got a long way to go to catch up with that one. Also, people that can and want to model there own people, probably won't be here in the first place lookin for a plugin lol.
This is the solution that is working for some of us. Forum Post.
Oh, ok, nevermind then. I didn't see the diffeomorphic instructions for geografts so that's probably why they didn't work for me.
If you have not seen it, there is a Blender forum where the plugin is being discussed.

Same with Maya and others.
