Adapting imported .obj/.fbx characters for use in DAZ studio

Hi, I wasn't sure in which subforum to ask this. Basically, I'd like to import some downloaded figures and adapted game characters from sites like 3Dpeople.com or some game asset libraries into DAZ studio ; they come as FBX or OBJ files, so obviously they have no body morphs. What I'm wondering is, is it possible to create body parts from the model to pose like you'd do a traditional DAZ figure (ie G8F), and if so how would you go about doing it?
Can you use Hexagon for it? Blender? Or is there some other software I'd need? I've never used anything apart from DAZ (and, recently, Marmoset, to adapt downloaded characters) ; so I'm unfamiliar with which softwares could be used for this.

Yes, you can rig an imported OBJ (or import it into the Figure Setup pane). Edit>Object>Rigging>Convert Prop to Figure, then use the Joint Editor to add bones and position them. Once you have a skeleton you use the Node Weight Map Brush tool (possibly helped by the Geometry Editor) to weight the mesh so that it follows the bones.
Nice, I didn't realize you could do it in-studio. I'll give it a try, thanks!
Well, sorry for the double post. Just reporting back to say this worked quite well - it's fairly complicated to adapt rigging that's usable in DAZ onto other types of characters, like one where the default pose isn't really similar to the DAZ t-pose, but it works. Thanks again!
