not using Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 for rendering

This is the latest version of Daz3d running on a windows 10 machine

The GPU is selected for rendering in the render settings but task manager shows mininal activity on the GPU

If I remove the CPU option then it doesn't render

Is there any info why it wouldn't use the GPU?

Which driver are you using? Right-click on desktop>nVidia Control Panel and the version  will be just above the card name.

The RTX 2060 only has 6GB of VRAM.  It is possible that you are trying to render a scene that does not fit in to that GPU's VRAM.  I would suggest loading a very simple scene (just a single primative with no texture) and hit render.

Also as stated by Richard in the post above make sure to update your video card drivers to the most recent.  (Do not use the built in drivers from windows update as they are not compatible with Iray rendering)  Go directly to www.nvidia.com to find and download the most recent drivers.

Windows Task Manager does not show GPU activity unless you go to the Performance Tab, select the NVIDIA GPU, and change one of the parameters to monitor (3D, Video Encode, Video Decode, etc.) to CUDA.

Yes, it's all in the DAZ 3D log (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File...). It shows whether it's even looking for a GPU, or if so, why it gives up on it. The usual answer is that it needs more GPU memory than is available. But that is not always the answer. Sometimes it's because you don't have the right driver.
