Rigging Issue

So...Im trying to rig this item. I created the individual segments/nodes (?) in Milkshape, exported as an OBJ, imported into DS, and used Figure setup to setup bones. So the tails articulate...sorta. See the below picture....Thoughts, help?

Last I checked in D/S we now rig from 'solid' meshes. Yes they need to be grouped - but via D/S, not the modelers. After grouping the model using the Geometry Editor, that is exported out as .obj [possibly using Carrara settings] - then imported into the Figure Setup panel to rig.
