3-Fold question about L.I.E. placing a custom Tattoo and SSS

OK, here goes.

I have a character that i want to give a custom tattoo with a bit of a cyber theme. I found an image i liked from a game. Opened up photoshop and mate it into a transparent png.

I used the L.I.E. to place it on my arm and as you see in image 1 and 2 it turned out pretty good. The angle allignment is slightly off but not in a disturbing way so i may end up messing it up more. (hard determining the angle by guessing)

In image 3 you see the result. It does not look black.

After some fiddeling i noticed 2 things: image 4, when i change the SSS Colour to white the tattoo is black but the skin looks bad.

Simple question was or rather is how do i fix this.

Then i noticed a second thing. I also have the bellatrix tattoo D on that one looks fine. So played the "look for differences" game and i noticed that in the L.I.E. the layer of teh arm skin has a mask.
Now something tells me that this does something to override or correct what happens in image 4 (and therefore in 3).

Is this correct? and if so. How do i make such mask and apply it.

Thanks in advance

EDIT : i tried to duplicate the belatrix tattoo settings but i am probably doing something wrong. as it is still not working.

Try adding the tattoo to the translucency channel map as well. Most of the time, that fixes it.

I saw the bellatrix tattoo was added there as well. And after putting my tattoo there as well. It was black!

    Thanks a lot!!
