    A series of images in a video that involves no actual animaton... I like that a whole lot. What a time-saver and just as effcetive as a DS animation IMO.

    I am actually surprised more people don't upload slideshows of their 3D art, 2D artists do it all the time and photographers

    I see some but it is very underrepresented

    I used the Windows Video Application for it, very easy to use, you don't have to buy additional software.

    No. I played a little with creating crossfade pictures in GIMP, i.e. overlapping them in various degrees. It would have worked for some scenes like the police car, but others just became a blur. Finally, I decided against it. 

    Maybe next time ;)
