Smart Content Missing

Hi. I've been using Daz for some time with few hiccups but recently much of my content has been disappearing.

I'm running the latest versions of DS and DAZ3DIM on my Mac with the latest OS.

I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled using the recommended installation pathway, and also run Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import metadata.

Some of my content reinstalls cleanly, while much of it does not appear visually in my Content windows, and when selected it gives me a "File does not exist" message.

Some of the Products in Smart Content will have none of the asset pictures appear, some will have all of them appear and some will have only some appear, there's no real pattern that I can tell.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening here and what steps I can take to correct it? Please help because it's driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

Has the recent change from Valentia database to Postgresql worked in your system?

I'm not sure. There is a Postgresql folder in my Daz 3D folder. I'm not really sure what to do with it.

    Does it replace DAZ3DIM?

Is DAZ3DIM no longer going to be supported and is that why I'm having those problems?

DIM, DAZ 3D Install Manager, is not PosterSQL. PosterSQL is a upgrade to the CMS, Content Management Service, that was running Valentina before the switch. PosterSQL should do a better job of maintaining your Content DataBase file. It sounds to me as if your Database file has an error in it and is slowly getting worse. Do you know how to Reset your Database and then Re-Import your Metadata?

EDIT Okay I see you did that, have you checked the Re-install of DAZ Studio to see if it has keep all your content paths Mapped that you had Mapped before?

    Thanks!

You actually gave me the solution. I didn't know you had to Reset before Re-Importing the Metadata. I did so and now everything looks fine. Thank you very much.

I understand now what you are saying about Postgresql and am looking into it. Is Valentia no longer going to be supported? Will not changing over cause me problems long term? And is Postgresql a better program?

    Thanks again.

I've found PostgreSQL to be much faster and more reliable than Valentina, but switching isn't required. Carrara doesn't connect to PostgreSQL yet, so Valentina will definitely be supported for a while.
