Map Transfer and freebies

Can the Map Transfer utility be used to redistribute freebies of a different UV that are unrestricted use in their original form? Similarly, can it be used with permission if the author wills it? Essentially checking to see if there's any specific EULA restriction or if this is fine.

Studio has it's own Map Transfer Utility, though not as quick as 3D Universe's TC2, it's more effective for high-quality skin conversion. The only backdrop is, every character you transfer takes about an hour each, over-clocking your system...

If you have the right to redistribute modified versions of the original map you can use Map Transfer to make the modified maps for distribution.

this sounds extremely useful. this is good stuff i wouldn't mind receiving in a newsletter, tip of the day or something.
