Ron's Fireflies question

One more question about Ron's products...

Specifically Ron's Fireflies.

It contains brushes for Photoshop, and something called Photoshop Layer Styles (.ASL)

I am not sure what .ASL files are or how to use. Is there information on this somewhere?

The most recent product, Ron's Circle Flares, just has .PNG files, which I know how to use on a separate layer in Photoshop.

    If I recall right, layer styles are presets for various layer based adjustments like glow, drop shadow, etc... they change the whole layer to add an effect.

    At the 4 minute mark, it explains installing and using Styles (.ASL files).
