Install failed, latest version won't open.

I was having so many problems with the program that I decided to uninstall and reinstall. Now I get a fatal error message at opening and the program won't open at all. It crashed every time.

I get this message:

DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\igdlh64.inf_amd64_250db833a1cd577e\igdrclneo64.dll" at 0033:00000000BA2C0819, clGetKernelSubGroupInfoKHR()+50697 byte(s)

    That's part of the Intel video driver - does your CPU have an Intel GPU built into it? If it does, and if you also have a stand-alone AMD or nVidia GPU, make sure that DS is set to use the latter in its control panel, which can usually be launched by right-click on the deesktop.

  • Thanks, I do have an Nvidia GForce 1080 graphics card. Not sure about the stand alone GPU thing, but I will check with the control panel.

    I'm looking at the Nvidia control panel settings and I don't understand what it is I"m supposed to turn on or off. How do I make provision for the install? I don't know what the hangup is. I did change the setting for GPU performance counters which was restricted. Other than that, I don't know what's up.

    Is there an Intel graphics chip ion the CPU? If not then you can ignore teh rest of my question/suggestion.

  • My processor is an Intel Core i7-7700K CPU @ 4.2GHz. If you're asking me about a graphics chip on the CPU, my very uneducated response would have to be no. My graphics card is Nvidia GForce 1080. Thats the best I can do.

    I reported the bug two days ago, haven't heard from tech support yet.

  • OK, I believe this can be an issue for some users - even without an Intel GPU - but I don't know what triggers it since it isn't universal, and I'm not sure of a safe fix.

  • I initially posted my problem with Daz studio on July 31. I also submitted two bug reports about the problem to tech support, butI have yet to hear from anyone concerning my issue with this software. I've been using Daz for a long time now, but I've never had this kind of a problem with any software before. Even worse, to have spent so much time and money with this company and then to get left hanging like this?? NOT COOL!!!! At this point, I don't care if there is a pandemic going on. I shouldn't have to wait weeks for some kind of tech support for this program. I guess I'll just bite the bullet and buy Poser when I get some extra cash, so at least that way I'll be able to use the all the stuff I've bought over the years. Thanks a lot for nothing fellas, (and ladies too).
