Your Pc ran into a problem and needs to restart.

Hi

Since i recently reinstalled DAZ with DIM and DAZ was working fine mostly, but every now and then
DAZ gets stuck and the computer closes with this message: Your Pc ran into a problem and needs to restart.
This only happens when i use DAZ studio. Any solutions or ideas?

  • System specifications? Driver version? A restart is most likely a system-level issue, perhaps temperature related as DS drives the hardware (CPU/GPU/both depending on settings) hard.

If you're getting the Blue Screen of Death, check the bottom of the blue screen when this happens. Usually -- but not always -- there's a message at the bottom of the screen, something like KERNEL MODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED or MEMORY MANAGEMENT or HARDWARE ERROR or sometimes a weird number starting with 0x########## or something like that. If that happens, you can make a note of it and search the web to see if there's a solution to the problem.

You said teprature related! I noticed that my laptop gets really hot even though i am not running DAZ. Could this be the problem?
So clenaing and fixing the fans might be the solution?

Quite possibly, yes - rendering is a very intensive process, and other things can be demanding too.

I noticed today that when i close all Chrome Windows including the Log in box. My computer and DAZ dosent crash anymore.
Could it be that there is a conflict with Chrome? Also my Disk dont run up to 100%.
Instead i use Edge as browser...

One of the first things to do when having any kinds of problems, close all other programs, especially when using computers that are straining already due to lack of memory or ventilation.

Its only with Chrome opened that causes the crashes with Edge open there is no problem...

In which case, given that Edge is now using the same code-base, it's most likely a plug-in or add-on of some kind. It might be worth running some malware scans
