That's a plane primitive with a emissive shader set? To make the plane invisible you need turn off the visibility of the plane.
No, its a Lightspot You can see the infos in the left panel.
If the light was not visible in reflections then it would not give highlights. render Emitter affects only the direct view, it still shows in reflections and when viewed through another surface (which can produce odd haloing with hair in front of a light). You can make a light source more nearly invisible by using a surface with emission and setting the Cutout Oapcity to nearly, but not quite, zero - however, the result will seem flat due to the lack of highlights.
