Having trouble Spot Rendering

I'm having trouble with this today. I did a quick test a little bit ago and it worked fine. Then I tried again on the next picture and it froze up (see attached) and the clock is still ticking with no part of the picture spot rendered. I tried hitting cancel but it just has that spinning blue wheel and DAZ stops responding. I've tried re-starting my system a few times. I think I read that wipes the GPU clean. Is there some other setting I need to reset or a bin of spot renders somewhere I need to empty? Thanks for any help :)

Okay well I guess the answer is that Daz found something objectionable about that picture. Spot render works when I load other pictures but not that one. Maybe it's got some sort of corrupted...thing in it or something. I just reposed it from the preceding picture and tried it again and it works. So I'll just chalk it up to a glitch.

Welcome to my new thread, same as the old thread.  So I actually seem to have located the problem. Whenever any G8F anatomical elements are added to the figure, kiss spot rendering and any posing you've done goodbye.

I tried every version of AE that I have and every single one of them locks and freezes Daz causing me to have to exit the program without saving. Things didn't use to be this way. I never had any problem with Spot Rendering before. And please, to be clear, it's not a problem using spot render ON the AE. When I first noticed the problem, I was trying to decrease the reflectivity of a TV stand in my picture and it took me awhile to realize the only time I had an issue was when I loaded a character into that scene that I had saved with AE on her. It took me forever to whittle the problem down. I'm secure that's the problem because I can have a character loaded in an empty scene with no AE...Spot Renders no problem. Add the AE (Any AE, Daz or aftermarket) and the gears lock up.

    Any ideas what's causing this?

  • Possibly a problem with the "type" of images, try with .png if they are .tiff for example. Normals are another texture image that can make for slower renders.

I typically save as jpg...but check this out...it ONLY happens with this particular character. She's a G8F base, with mixes of other characters faces and using Aubry skin materials. But it DOESN'T happen with Aubry. It's as if someone...or some THING placed a...a groin curse!

It's not a huge deal. I mean, delete the AE and I'm in business. Didn't need it anyway. I just wondered if anyone else had this problem. My curious nature sent me looking for answers.

  • The Anatomical Elements are geografted parts. There are a lot of things that are geografts, so if any geograft is having an issue, it might impact your ability to render what you like. Have you tried it with other geografted anatomy? (Succubus parts (Wings and Snake Tail), for instance.)

If that happened to my Daz, I would need it fixed ASAP. LOL.
