DAZ Studio isn't loading under Win 8.1

Hi!

I've had a number of computer issues over the past couple of years. I am now running Win 8.1 on my HP All-in one: Athalon II X2 250u processor with 2.7GiB RAM.

With Win 7 I had all DAZ (3 & 4), Bryce 7, Carrara and Hexagon running with no real problems. I am now running Win 8.1 and the only thing that will run is Bryce. DAZ 3 and 4 both say during the start up process that OpenGL1.3 is required and I have OpenGL 1.1. As I said, this machine was running all the above DAZ software. There have been no hardware changes. Can any one help or point out where to go for further assist?

I have a dual boot machine with Ubuntu (Linux) v14.04. I am going to try getting it running there, too. But, I'd prefer to use Windows.

Thanks!

Kevin

What graphics card do you have in it. Sounds like it don't support OpenGL

Sounds like you didn't install your graphic card manufacturer's driver and are using Microsoft provided ones.

If you didn't install them just do it and it should work

Otherwise the drivers are not correctly installed. You have to deinstall and reinstall again until the right OpenGL drivers are working

Thanks for the fast response. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200.

As I said, DAZ DID run under Win 7. No hardware changes..
