Trying to understand liscensing

I see a lot of artists sell renders they make from here.

What I want to know is

1) If I purchase a pack, wether it be a person, hair, features, a bed, a background scene, does that mean I can sell the 2d version (png) file of the image I make in daz or do I need the interactive liscense?

2) renders that I make fromt the backs that I purchase, do I have to purposfully make them as different as possible to be able to sell the renders, so can they be as basic looking as the advertisment photo in daz's shop?

    1)  you only need the interactive licence if you need to include 3d geometry in your project.   2D images are included in the standard licence

    2) yes   you cannot buy the pack and then use the promos as a commercial product.  The promo images are the intellectual property of Daz 3d and the Promo artist. Your own images rendered in Daz Studio need to be different.

  • As for 2) So what you are saying is I cannot purchase the same hair or clothing and make my own 2d renders that are in the promotion of the packs that I buy?

-- if thats the case, wouldn't I have to go through each item every time I purchase it to make sure I'm not accidnetly making something similar? That seems like a lot of work.

Unless you are purposuly trying to make your renders look like the promos (don't know why you would) you should be fine

Cholhole is saying you can't use any of the promo images that are part of the product for anything. You can make your own images from the products you purchase and do anything with them commercially other than make a competing product, like say a texture set you purchase and then render the textures so another user can use the renders you made as the textures instead of the textures that are part of the product.

It's nearly impossible for two people to create absolutely identical images unless they're using the same scene file along with all the assets, and that's the only time there would be an issue.   You are free to use the assets you buy at Daz to try to recreate scenes you see.  It's good practice, but eventually, you'll want to follow your own vision.
