How do you completly Uninstal Daz 3D and it content from Windows 8?
I only see a few options under my unstall programs window, cant find an uninstall program in file folders.
Daz install manager only deletes some of the program
I need a clean install of Daz on my computer that erases all the past daz content files, and DAZ itself
I have tried reinstalling Daz but the old empty content files are still there, cluttering up the content interface

I used to have tons of content, I don't want it all installed now, only some of it, how do I get rid of it, and it's associated files so my new Daz install doesn't keep trying to access it?

When you have installed DS, have you tried "DB Maintenance" and the options about removing orphaned stuff, etc?

What is “DB Maintenance”? Is that an option in the Daz files, or is that something you do on your computer system to delete files?

Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager and delete any content locations you don't want from both DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats.

Mr. Mike I appreciate your answers but they always leave me dumbfounded and confused. Where is this "Edit" file at you speak of?

Ok, never mind, I think I get what you said, I am assuming you mean "Edit" tab in Daz studio, Ok I will try that.

Ok found DB maintenance after searching, I'm assuming that's what you meant, I'll see if that works.

Are you talking about icons in Smart Content/Categories/Products, or in DAZ Studio Formats/Poser Formats?

Yes and No,...what I need to do is remove an overwhelmingly large amount of old and new Daz content, people, accessories, etc. off my Hard drive, I need it completely uninstalled. I tried uninstalling every damn thing I could find but that didn't work. I tried simply deleting any and all folders containing the content, but all that did was make Daz show empty icons in the smart content tab with names of the items but no content.

All this content is also creating a problem for my poser content, there are hundreds of unorganized Daz items that show up in my Poser content library, It takes me all freaking day to find what I'm looking for, I need this stuff gone, removed, cut, abolished, banished... uninstalled,... is this possible?

Delete the folders on the hard drive, then in DS go to the Content Library pane's options menu > Content DB Maintenance > Remove Orphaned Items

Content is installed separately to the Daz program. You can remove it simply by deleting the files and folders associated with that data. In older days, content came with its own installer and uninstaller but most is now provided as a zip file instead.

That said there shouldn't be much need to remove content, especially if you plan on reinstalling it later. You can categorize your content and rearrange things to find them easier and Daz can pick up your content even on a fresh installation simply by pointing the program to the right content folders in the preference settings.

I suspect you mean empty folders, not empty files. Content directories can be removed with the Content Directory manager (Edit>Preferences>Content Library>Content Directory Manager) or by right-clicking on them in the Content Library pane and selecting the Remove option.

Merged duplicate threads. Please don't start a second thread on an existing subject, it just leads to you and, more importantly, other people wasting time going over ground that has already been covered.
