Two drives: What folders to install to and what to backup?

I have new computer with two m.2 SSDs and wondering where to install "stuff" and what files it would be good to backup.

Questions

1 Installation folders:

The two m.2 drives are ½ tb (OS and programs) and 1 tb (mean for games and now DAZ stuff). The drives seems to be somewhat equal in speed.

1.1 I was thinking about just creating a new folder on my 1 tb drive and set that folder as my base folder in the DIM. Any downside to that?

2 What to backup?

I only use Daz studio for fun so I don't need to backup anything except my work files, but if I don't want to download everything again then what should I do?

2.1 Keep the downloaded packages?

2.2 And what folders to backup? Just backup the whole "base" folder set in DIM?

Cheers.

I like to reserve C-drive just for the OS and install all the programs to D-drive and everything else to E, F, G... Z wink

The logic is in "where does the problem occur when it does occur?" = C-drive

If the only thing installed on C, is the OS, you don't have to spend hours and hours with some rescue utility, digging through 100K files to find the ones that are important, which are mingled amongst the OS files.

In your case installing the programs to C makes sense, but DAZ Content Library definitely on D

For your downloads, get an external 4-5TB USB drive (keep the packages) and if you want to backup something, an other one for that purpose.
