Rieke77 - oh wow, that's a beautiful and realistic looking scene.

    Akmerlow: Thank you.

Yellow Pen: What a wonderful render, full of vegetation. And a lovely mother and child pose.

Rieke77: Farm life is full of details and a very complicated scene to create, I think. I also like the slightly toon-like render, could easily fit in a children's book.

Yelloe Pen  wow smashing render love all the vegetation and the whole scene

Rieke77..really wonderful scene great objects beautifully put together .I love that building with the pen attached...... I don't give that dog squaring up to the geese much of a chance though ......Also. the atmosphere is lovely and the scaling is good to

Thank you so much for the comments. They are appreciated!

Horo - lovely landscape scene. Very nice atmospherics.

Yellow Pen -  A very classical era looking image. Well staged and nicely lit.

mermaid010 and Rieke77 - both excellent pastoral depictions.

Here's my second entry: “A beautiful day”.

Inspired by the period Musical films of the 1950s.

Clouds based on a volumetric cloud slab texture byDavid Brinnen as well as the camera settings.

Genesis 2 female and props from

     DAZ3D.

Illuminated by the sun and sky IBL. The main figure is also illuminated by a inward facing dome light.

Rendered in about four hours at normal AA

    Thanks for taking a look!.

Mermaid010: Very nice and pieceful scene. Nice warm colours.

Dan WhitesideVery special point of view. Luckily she wears an old fashioned ankle-long dress!  The grainy render helps to create that 50's atmosphere.

My third entry: On the moors

Terrain made in Bryce with the terrain editor, can't remember where the ston bridge and the wall (that I instanced and modifed) came from. Tree and bushes are the same instanced tree by JudyK. Sheep are from Lyne's goats and sheep. Couple of posed ones, the remainder are instances. Stones from Bryce (instances again). I used the volumetric terrain grass trick from David Brinnen for part of the vegetation (had to try, didn't I) and a volumetric sky slab that I made myself. Light only from the sun and an IBL of the sky. Regular AA render. Took quite some time, due to the volumetric grass, but I like the result and consider it worthwhile.

Hansmar - very nice scene, the grass looks great and all those sheep took quite some time to place, I reckon.

Wow I see I'm a little behind this thread - lots going on still.

Hansmar - "His miss farmland" is a great idea and I like that mistiness.

spuddy - "River Beach" is a nice scene, the water and the distant landscape look really good.

S Ray - "Cowboy" is very moody and atmospheric.

Horo - "Nowhere" has lovely lighting and clouds and those long shadows look very effective.

Dan Whiteside - "Morning Chores" - can't get much more rural than that! Nicely done.

Horo - "Willow Creek" is beautiful, again lovely lighting and sky.

Yellow Pen - "Mother and Child" reminds me of a painting I've seen somewhere, but can't remember where. Nice composition and lovely plants/foliage.

Rieke77 - "Farm Life" is very fitting for the theme, lots going on and I like that POV through the wheat.

mermaid010 - "The Barn" is very atmospheric and a lovely colour scheme/lighting.

Dan Whiteside - "A Beautiful Day" is very well done, interesting POV and lovely lighting.

Hansmar - "On the moors" is beautiful, great grass and lighting.

  • Melanie: thank you.

Dan: *A beautiful day* is really wonderful and awesome. I agree with Horo.

Hansmar: 'On the moores' is a nice and peaceful scene,

  • @ adbc: Somewhere in the country - really nice. I like the light.

@ Hansmar: His miss farmland - very beautiful and rich in detail.
On the moors - a picture like from Ireland. I love it.

@ spuddy: River Beach - Nice corner to relax.

@ S Ray: Cowboy - Very cool cowboy. Had to do a little
    Marlboro Man think.

@ Horo: Nowhere - this is really wonderful. Very nice how the long shadows fall into the picture.
Willow Creek - An impressive scene. I love the light.

    @ Dan Whiteside: Thank you.
Morning Chotrs - The scene is really great. I almost hear the chickens cackling.
A beautiful day - that's a great perspective! You show the lady completely, the environment and the beautiful sky at the same time.
    Really cleverly chosen. Top!

@ akmerlow: Thank you very much.

@ Yellow Pen: Mother and Child - Like a fairy tale about love. The whole picture looks so peaceful. Beautiful.

@ Rieke77: Farm life - WOW! This is a scene that I like with great attention to detail.

@ mermaid: The Barn - stunning light for this beautiful barn.

Dan Whiteside : A beautiful day : it sure is, everything fits, those grainy clouds are wonderful.

Hansmar : excellent scene, beautiful result on the grass.

mermaid    lovely atmospheric image ...however I would take another look at the scaling of the far left animals on the far ridge compared with the two on the right ridge in front of the house in reality you don't really need the left ones the composition wouldn't be harmed but enhanced (..just my thoughts on it ) take care dave

Dan Whiteside...Great models great sky nice composition and idea

  • spuddyspuddy Posts: 449

Hansmar...I like the overall look and composition and the sky slab is nice but it does have issues the main one is due to the instancing of the sheep it has thrown the scaling way off
