increasing render "realism"

Hello there !

I've been using DAZ for a while now and I think I can produce "decent" renders lol. However I'm still amazed at the level of realism achieved by some advanced users. I know it's a 3d render and not a real picture but it just looks more "real". So I'm ready to take any advice to help me improve in that direction. Here are my specs :

- core I7 9750H / Nvidia RTX 2070 / 16gb RAM.

Below you'll find the best I can do with my current (limited smiley) knowledge of DAZ. I mostly increased the progressive render settings, environment lighting resolution and adjusted pixel filter radius from 1,50 to 1.10

Thanks in advance for your help

That looks pretty good.  The weakest part is the character's skin.  Some characters have better skins than others, and you can get interesting results from putting the materials of one character on the model of another.

There's a lot to it.  It's a combination of model, skin, lighting, hair, clothing and setting.  It's not insanely difficult to get a character to look right, but there's a lot to making a whole scene, the final product, look right.  Just remember than more realistic isn't the same as more interesting.

This discussion focuses mostly on characters.

Oh, almost forgot: facial expressions and poses are also part of it.
