  • Which look? RawArt hasa  couple of options, one for Genesis and one for Genesis 8 Male 9and feamle version too):

If you want the Karloff version I'm not sure what would work.

As you are a PC+ member, there's also this one: https://www.daz3d.com/the-monster-hd-for-genesis-8-male

Not exactly a Karloff look-alike either, but he comes with some clothes (included in that set) and a mate, also with some clothes: https://www.daz3d.com/the-monster-bride-hd-for-genesis-8-females

I think Daz avoided Karloff knockoffs due to copyright issues, but shouldn't it eventually fall into public domain?  It was created in 1931, which was 89 years go.  It can't stay under copyright forever.

Would 'The Munsters' hold a copyright on their Boris K lookalike? That was in the 60's I believe, I watched the series as a kid in the 70s...

Their copyright is still active. It wouldn't stop anyone from making an imitation or parody of it, especially considering that's what they did.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_in_the_public_domain_in_the_United_States

So it's not PD yet but will be whether within 10 years (2031 is the year for that movie if my math and the Wikipedia page are both right) whether the current copyright holder likes it or not. Sometimes though quite well know works are purposely released to public domain. You can look at the link above to see a list or go to archives.org I think the name of the site is.

1931 Frankenstein is owned by Universal. They also own The Munsters tv show, which is why it was never opposed.

The "Hotel Transylvania" animated 3D movie also has a Frankenstein, but that's owned by Sony/Columbia.  They avoided copyright issues by excluding
some signature features like green skin and bolts through the neck.  In fact, all of their monsters have missing or changed features to skip around Universal copyright.

Mary Shelley wrote the orginal book about Frankenstein in 1818 and the concept and story she wrote is long in public domain. You'll find that true of most mass produced entertainment with a little research. You need only change the presentation and they can't touch you legally.

Cool, I didn't know about that. I always wondered who came up with those features.

I don't know what you mean.  A flat top head?  A flat top head should be easy to do using Morp Loader after you flatten it in your modelling app. But, his head looks more like a tree stump to me.

  • Presumably a head shape that is like Karloff's Frankenstein's monster - I think there is, but I can't recall which pack it is in.

There is a Frankenstein head morph for Genesis 1. It's in one of the morph packs from the DAZ store, but can't remember which one.
