Iray render time for 2 gen 8 characters with environment?

Hey guys. Recently I've been getting into render settings and optimizing my scenes. Two fully dressed with hair Gen 8 characters + indoor environment. I have halved the textures with Scene Optimizer. Graphics card is RTX2070. Render time is 1 hour- 1 hour 30 min. Does this sound normal, or should I mess about in settings till it is faster? I ask because there are many settings that I am not familiar with

It does sound high to me, but I don't really recall what I used to get with a 980ti and I expect your card is faster than mine. It does depend on the scene composition though; what your shaders are doing: SSS and Glossy adds to the time as does displacement. Lack of light can also make a difference.
One of the reasons I moved to Blender.
If you can share the duf file, on the off chance others have the same products, folks could compare and offer advice. It might also be worth swapping the characters to two official characters as more folks have those.
Doesn't sound like it's using the GPU for rendering - On my RTX2070super that would be about 10 minutes (for 95% completenes)
Have you checked your log and are you rendering in IRAY?
Hey, thank you for the advice. I will recreate the scene with more common items and share it. The lightning, I followed the 3 point light guide. Removed the Rim light because it was giving a harsh effect on the hair. Light looks sufficient in final render to me
You are correct, I checked the usage during render. Both GPU (Intel integrated and RTX2070) were at 0%, and CPU was at 25%. I was confused becase I was reading the temperatures, and the GPU was running high during the render. So I assumed it was being used. But I am still not sure, because if it is using CPU then it should surely be something like 90% usage? And before Iray begins rendering it shows what is being used, and it kept listing GPU too. I will run more tests
If you have Photoshop, you could create an HDRI of the enviornment and replace the environment with the HDRI.
