Getting old hair to follow poses on Genesis 3 Female
I know that many discussions have been made about parenting hair so you don't lose morphs the way you do when you conform.
So, I love G3F because she can wear Aiko 3 clothes without hassle!!
I am using 3Dream Dione hair on G3F. I used the Hair the .cr2 first, now I'm using the hr2 hair.
I have parented the hair to G3F body...I tried parenting to head, neck, etc.
I have parented both in place and not in place.
So, I can rotate G3F's body...transpositon, etc and the hair follows.
However, when I do a simple pose using quaility pose products, the hair does not follow the pose. Isn't that strange???
I am going to try more pose products and see if it is all the same.
If anyone has some ideas, please let me know. I know a lot of poses do mess up hair in Poser for Aiko 3, so poses and hair do not always work together!!

Note that one "3" is not the same as the other "3" — there were four generations of DAZ figures before Genesis, so Genesis 3 Female is actually Generation 7. Aiko 3 is pre-Genesis, so it's Generation 3. There are conversion utilities in the store that can fit clothes across that gap, but the quality of the results can vary.
Hair, whether Figure or Prop, should be parented to the head. Parenting anywhere else can cause the problem you describe.
You've said you were parenting the hair to different (wrong) bits of the G3F figure. Where were you parenting to when you tried the poses?
I parented the hair to G3F body....then to head...then to neck.
I tried them all. The hair will stay if I manually move G3f body around, but it will not move if I use a pose :(
Yes, back in the early years, I bought more clothes for Aiko 3, than I did for myself!! Now, I want to use her clothes to justify the expense. I never played with her much.
I want to use A3 clothes, but perhaps not A3!! LOL
I use all of the figures actually, but for this idea I have, I think a G3f is a lot more realistic!!
I didn't even complete rendering G3F (right pic) and she looks better.
A3 was done in Poser because I have a lot of clothing materials I love.
A3 is gorgeous, but just not the quality of the G3f.
I you load a G3F hair and move your mouse over the different parts of it in viewport, you can see how the parts have been linked to different parts of the G3F - That's how the hair knows how to follow the figure when posed.
When you parent an older (Aiko 3) hair onto the same G3F, it's just a static prop, there is no linking between the two and the hair doesn't follow the pose because it doesn't know how.
That does make sense, PerttiA!
