how to use....Monochrome Edition Lights

Purchased this new product but I can't get it to convert my figure to monochrome upon final render.

Does anyone know the exact protocol to get it to work.

Thanks,

Kent

Sorry, I don't have that product, but if you want to render in monochrome :

In your Render Setting tab, under Tone Mapping, find the Saturation Dial and set it to 0.   That should give you a monochrome render.

Inside the monochrome folder, there should be a folder called tone mapping, the settings will do something similar to what JVRender said.

  • Thank you for your comments guys...appreciate the feedback.

But since I paid for this product, I would like it to perform as advertised.   Otherwise whats the point in buying it.

I also know that I can covert color photos to black and white in Photoshop.

From the product information page, that package has all the tools you need  to the render black and white images. You don't really need to convert them in Photoshop. Just set the saturation in your render setting to 0. It mignt not be a one click solution, but none of the products are.

I have the product and everything you need is there.

    1. There are two props, an environment (room) and a primitive light disk.  Load those.
    2. There are poses for the light disk; choose the direction you want the light to face.
    3. Add the HDRI (HDRI 1, HDRI 2 etc...), add all the attributes you want for the HDRI such as intensity, vignetting, etc...
    4. Zero the saturation using the Zero Saturation setting
    5. Render

There are also a set of scenes: load the scene, add and pose your figure, choose HDR as mentioned above, and render.

Under the render settings there is 2 options - Set Saturation Level to 0 & Set Saturation Level to Nornal

Thanks Nemesis 10 for yours suggestions

But for now the result i have is not so different than if i just play with saturation setting with other colors lightings

If someone can be more explicite for different steps using this product ( ex where add HDRI )

    Thanks

Ah, as you have seen, making something monochrome is pretty easy, and if you are a fan of Film Noir, you realize it is all about the lighting!

    1. Make a new scene
    2. Add your character, dress and pose
    3. Add the enviroment and light props from Monochrome Iray
    4. Add the HDRI of choice and Zero the saturation
    5. Pose the light props for MonoChrome Iray using the the included poses
    6. Position your camera
    7. Render
