I like this case

This case appears to have plenty of room. https://www.newegg.com/black-thermaltake-the-tower-900-e-atx-vertical-super-tower/p/N82E16811133328?RandomID=43966134216142120200824075022

No idea how the airflow of the case is, but it does look cool indeed. And.. According to the description, it still has a slot hidden somewhere for an external drive. Those aren't standard anymore (buyer beware issue in my opinion), but especially for users who still have a lot of stuff on cd or dvd roms, extremely useful!
I think it has less room than meets the eye...because the case is taller with a smaller footprint. Also a less stable center of gravity for those with jumping kitty feet, lol.
It looks amazing.
I have this case :

It has enough room to install all the hardware effortlessly.
I've had it for 9 months now and I'm very satisfied with it. It does provide good air flow. my CPU is liquid cooled, but my two RTX cards aren't. During heavy rendering, I use Speccy to monitor the temperature of all the components... It's been holding up fine.
I have this case too but no liquid cooling.
JVRenderer, that case looks great...but it's not sold directly from Amazon. I'll look for it on other sites.
This one is mine -

Short of it being goddamn heavy and a pita to keep clean, I love it. Awesome air flow, though I did replace the fans with Corsair HD's (it comes with Corsair SD's) and I turned the top fans into intakes rather than exhausts (280mm radiator mounted on the front).
Yes, but it is sold from the manufacturer site (Corsair)
Given that it's watercooled, the CPU and GPU(s) will have the cooling unit directly attached to them. And the fans for the watercooling seem to be in the sides of the rear part of the case, so IMHO airflow is not important here, especially as there's still two fans in the top of the front part of the case to get rid of hot air. The HDs also seem to be build into a seperate part of the case.
Looks nice. A bit too much for me, but I only have an quite ordinary gaming PC I'm doing my renders on, so heat isn't that much of a problem for me
For a case looking like that, I'm trying to decide whether it would work best owned by a Bond villain, or a mad scientist with a thing about pre-owned body parts...
I don't plan on watercooling. I think some cases like to show what watercooling would look like...?!
I guess the next step is what to put in it.
Judging by the size of the new Nivida cards (if they are real), there'll be quite a lot of people looking for new cases very soon. I know there's no way I could fit even one of those monsters in my case.
Fish?!
Talking about water cooling I actually had to change from water cooling because the built in solution by Alienware was not working while rendering 3D in Blender. The original alienware cooler was a thicker than normal 120mm radiator all in one cooler that was not working well (too small and a dual 120 will not fit in case) so I switched to a aftermarket cooler by uphere that is both quite and cools very well. The silver alieware head is a car stickon decal that I put on air cooler to hide the logo uphere. (it does not affect the cooler in any way) Oh my specs are in my signiture below. Oh a word of warning about using aftermarket all in one water coolers!!! Make sure that the in and out tubes on the radiator are facing down and your cpu block is not higher than your radiator otherwise you will get air in your pump and this will make your cooler pump die faster and the pump will absolutely make alot of noise!!! Remember air floats up and the pump needs to be full of water to work!!!! On a side note I am currently only running one Titan as the other one is in my other PC.
I've been considering case requirements for a possible "next" computer. But one of my desires is one that has the window on the right side instead of the left (as you face the front) Where my new computer would need to be placed would completely hide the gizmotic light show on the inside if the window was on the left side.
Not a rush! I have no need (or money) at the moment but just thinking ahead. Is that a specifiable attribute or do you just have to browse catalogs until you find one?
That means the motherboard would have to be on the left instead of the right, otherwise you'd just see the wires going across the back of the base plate. The sides themselves are symmetrical in the cases I've seen (admittedly not fancy ones) so swapping those would then be trivial.
I'm hoping to build a new PC in the next couple months. I am waiting to see if we get another Stimulus Check. Oh my gosh, that case above is pretty full of stuff!
It's because of people like you that it's getting increasingly hard to find components that DON'T give me a Pink Floyd laser light show all the time.
This. Everything comes with those !#%@#% lights.
Oh, no. Don't blame that on me! I've simply given in to the peer pressure and catalog opportunities of the gizmotic plentitudes. The last system I built is thoroughly modern in most respects but the price breaks on LED studded parts left me with the choices of either not hooking up the LED circuits, or spraying photons in a closed case, or hooking up the lights, removing the side panel and spraying photons on the side of the cubby hole on the shelf of my computer desk in front of my legs. (I didn't hook up the lights.) Next computer is going to have to sit at desktop height on the left side of my desk so if I'm going to have to get lights anyway (if they are still popular when I can afford to build another computer) the window will have to be on the right side of the case. I think I saw one in a catalog a few weeks ago, but I didn't bookmark it and can't find it again.
But as long the topic is gizmotic light shows. When I turn off my room lights before going to bed, as I leave the room I look back at my office area and the lightshow of little red pilot lights on power blocks, routers, USB hubs, UPS system, DSL modem, HDMI converters, audio switches, video switches, telephones, etc. still busily advertising their status. And that's AFTER I've turned off the computers themselves.
I really need to rearrange some of the power connections so that I can turn off some of that stuff with a single switch. However, I do need to keep the DSL modem, and WiFi router on because that's what feeds my bedroom TV.
You can get stuff without LED's and it is reasonably easy to turn the LED's off on most stuff.
But please don't buy cases like that display case in the OP. That is a PoS. It isn't really meant to be used with the sides on or in any sort of production system. It's meant as either a test bench or as a show piece.
kenshaw011267 I am the "OP," remember me?! What's specifically wrong with the case?! I'm just doing research before I have the money to spend.
No airflow. It's a big glass box. Once a motherboard is on there's no where to get air from to cool anything. You'd need to take the glass off to cool it.
OK thanks for clarifying the issue.
I like the idea about using the case as a fish tank. It could also help with the liquid cooling.
This is my case, the Coolermaster H500 https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterCase-Mid-Tower-Controller/dp/B07DRVHBWK/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=MasterCase+H500&qid=1598495819&sr=8-3
Though I got mine from Newegg, and I got mine for $80 or $90 on a sale.
It is pretty simple, with 2 large 200mm fans up front and an exhaust fan. It has vents on top and you can also mount another fan or a water cooler as shown in some pics. I found it roomy enough and easy enough to build. It has 2 hard drive slots, plus 2 SSD posts on the side without glass. I like the way they did these posts, they have rubbery posts that make popping a SSD on them super easy. I also tossed a formerly portable drive back there. I have two 1080tis, and with just air cooling I keep them both cool during renders. One will reach a peak of 74C while the other will barely get into the 60s. That is pretty darn good for air cooling, and especially with 2 cards in there. If you use really big cards then using two will be kind of tight. There is a larger version of this case out there. If I play games, the cards can actually get just a little warmer, but I'm sure this is not something you do. A lot of people don't realize that while Iray is very demanding, games can actually be more demanding on GPUs.
Oh, and if you (or anyone) do get one of these cases, do NOT use the optional plastic cover they provide. This chokes the airflow and turns the case from a great case into a poor case. Just don't. I don't know why they even include that extra piece. Without it, the entire front of the case is big mesh grill that allows the 200mm fans to pull in lots of air. If you don't care for the RGB lights on the fans, you can turn them any solid color instead, or even turn the lights off.
I have a pic of a my case before I made some upgrades. In this one I have one 1080ti and a 970, so still two GPUs. I also had just 16GB RAM at this point, I got another 16 soon after I took this pic. Most of the cable are nice and hidden away, and this also helps keep it cool, because sometimes your cables can disrupt airflow if there are too many. It also makes it real easy to keep clean. I rarely ever need to dust this case.
Sardines in oil?
Did you get a new hat? Or were you always wearing that hat lol
While I've never done it, and doubt I ever will, mineral oil does in theory make for a good PC coolant. But if I wanmted exotic cooling there are some real weird things out there and I could likely get a demo unit of one of these:
