Refraction settings

Hi, I have a render with a character holding up a drinking glass, looking through it. I want the glass to distort his image like some glass does. Not a massive amount, but a bit. I'm sure this is something to do with refraction settings (I'm rendering in 3delight), but I've been messing with them and can't seem to get it right. Can anyone suggest settings to use?

Cheers

Set the index of refraction for the material (glass is about 1.5), and the refraction strength to 100% (lower values allow less light through). Set opacity close to 0, like, maybe 1-2%. If the drinking glass is an actual closed volume and has some thickness, it should distort the light coming through it. If there is a liquid in the glass, it should be set up, too. And, often overlooked, set the Max Ray Trace Depth (in render settings) to more than 2, preferably something like 7; more if you and your machine can handle it. For liquid in a glass, a ray of light will require at least 6 bends just get through it (four glass walls and two liquid walls)

I'll give that a try, thanks.
