Need some expert advice.
I am currently up to frame 155 of a 360 frame animation image files..It has been going for 4 days 15 hours and 31 minutes.Size is 1525 X 1032. My computer is a 64 gigs of RAM, Intel i7 Chip, K2200 Quad Core Graphics Card with 4 Gigs Ram on a Windows 10 Professional Platform running DAZ Studio 4.12 .1.118. My question is would I be able to shorten my render times with a 8 Gig Quad Core Graphics Card? And would it create overheating for rendering for about seven days? My old machine is very stable and will render for days on end without overheating or any problems. Also my budget is limited many of the NVIDIA 8 Gig Cards have been quoted at over $1250 AUST in which I cannot afford.. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

I hope you are rendering to an image sequence? Otherwise if something goes wrong you may lose the render in progress. Rendering a to a sequence you can also take it in chunks and give the machine a chance to rest between.
I'm not sure which chip family that is (and most GPUs have vastly more than four cores) but 4GB is certainly not going to be much use for most scenes - 8GB should be much more useful, assuming the basic chip is supported in the first place.
When it comes to rendering in DAZ, the fastest solution is generally NVIDIA GPU(s) and iray. 3Delight does not use GPU, it uses CPU, so you need to upgrade according to your requirements. For GPUs, the CUDA core count is most often the reference, and this is typically in the 1000s. We really can't give specific advice without nowing the specifics of your project. Also, you don't need the more expensive GPUs unless you need the VRAM. iray rendering doesn't use as much CPU RAM, but it eats up VRAM on the GPU.
Have you lookied into outsourcing the render to a render farm?
I am rendering image sequences. The K220 Quatro is an NVIDIA 4 gig card quad core. It is quite old but it does the job. It is just that it takes a long time to render an image sequence. I was wondering if NVIDEA's RTX Series might be a way to go? I can get a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Windforce, 8GB for under $800 AUST. Would this be suitable? Cheers
Maybe wait a while and see what Google Filament can do. Looking at the DAZ Studio change log it seems it may be implemented in the next release. Might be good enough for animations and should be much quicker than IRay.
Many thanks everyone for your helpful replies.Cheers
I *really* would not buy an NVidia card right now.
