Purchased product today apparently only accessible through Daz Central.

Purchased product today apparently only accessible through Daz Central. Didn't intend to install another content manager but had already made the purchse.  Installed Daz Central and the product doesn't show.  So, no longer a manual zip download, not available in Daz Install manager and doesn't show in Daz Central.

If something shows as only being available through Daz Central, that means there was a glitch, and it's actually not available by any means, but it will be fixed.

  • I just assumed that was the direction Daz was going.  If it's just a glitch, then I can understand.

    Thanks.

Daz's current statement is that no products will be for Daz Central only.

  • Good to know.  I'll uninstall Daz Central and wait for them to fix the product.

    Thanks.

No, it's not. DazCentral is not suitable for all users (for example people with complex setups), and Daz has stated multiple times they had no plans to phase out other install methods.

Unfortunately this happens occasionally, but eventually gets fixed by Daz3d. The artist who created the product isn't at fault and can't fix it either. Also, Daz3d doesn't follow the forums, so you should submit a ticket if you haven't already.

I have no trouble organizing my content on my own and have no plans to go to Daz Central (especially after seeing troubles that others are having with it).

I am very unhappy to see today that the product descriptions on my product library pages have all been replaced with "nag screens" to install Daz Central . . . so if i want to see the product description I now have to open every product page individually.

This is not cool at all.

It's probably a mistake, which seems to be happening more often atm.

Presuming it ends up not being, return it; I vote with my wallet; it is the only effective way to vote especially if you give feedback.

DazCentral uses the same zip files and servers as DIM (and I think manual downloads, though servers might be different), so if a product is available via DazCentral it is technically also available for DIM and manual install.

If only DazCentral is listed on product page it means install files are missing, even for DazCentral. That's a mistake and should be reported.

  • I just made a HUGE purchase today and can only access the files manually. So there is clearly an issue going on.

  • And it's back up and running. Thank you DAZ. Love your stuff!

Purchased 2 packages about an hour ago but as yet, neither is accessible by DIM (product descriptions says DIM).

Looks like DIM is starting its search but gives up after about 10 seconds. My library is fairly large and normally takes much longer than that to scan.

Lets give DIM a little TLC ?  I will give it a few hours and then try again.
