Long Hair makes posing impossible

After adding/parenting "Pure Hair Catwalk" to a Genesis Figures head-part posing doesn't work anymore like it should.
See the picture below.

Especially the arms and shoulders seem to collide with the hair and will not get positioned like they should.
How can i deactivate the collision test with the hair?

"Fit To" will help, but i don't want the hair to get smoothed.

Thanks for help.

do not fit it, just parent it to the head

    Thats exactly what i did.

Parenting it to the head will result in problems with many poses (even with the zero pose, short hair works, but not long hair/catwalk).

you would still need to treat the hair as a figure too posing it as well, should have collar shoulder bones etc
not certain about that one but most have morphs under neck.

that one is made for genesis so should fit to conforming ok
has heaps of morphs so not sure what the issue is, maybe do a render to show?

I updated my first post and added a picture.

If I apply a pose the program checks for a collision with any object that was parented to the figure. I want to disable this.

instead of parenting because it is made for genesis select it in scene
    in parameters pick fit to
then pose is using the morphs
your parameters window is another one if you scroll down on left
or you can right click in main window and chose fit to
    or go to edit

Fit-to is what you're supposed to do adding Genesis hair to a Genesis figure; in fact, it's supposed to happen automatically. As for smoothing, just turn it off. With the hair selected (the root part of the hair figure, not any of the sub-parts), go to the Parameters tab and open up General>Mesh Smoothing, then click on the Enable Smoothing button to switch it from On to Off.

In this use it is exactly as Wendy points out. No matter how the hair is added to the figure you are going to have to go back to frame zero and animate the hair to match the figure. DAZ Studio is not going to automatically move the hair properly for you. Many hairs have bones or morphs added that will need to be used to do the needed animation. There is no fast it does it for you solution except as you say to use a short hair in the scene.

IF you are not Animating you will still need pose the hair to match the figures pose.

From the screenshot, I think what cschnei is saying is that if the hair is parented to the figure, the figure itself won't pose properly (when you try to apply a preset, the figure itself doesn't assume the correct pose). I've seen that happen before (though not recently) and have heard others report it too. I'm not aware of a solution unfortunately, aside from either using "fit to" or waiting until after you pose the figure before parenting the hair.

In this case (and in most cases, really) using "Fit to" is probably the best solution...you can adjust the smoothing, morphs, etc. as needed.

This is exactly what happens, good summarization!

Thanks for the 2 solutions (they are not perfect but they will work):
    1. I can use "Fit To", deactivate "smoothening" and have to manually undo all smoothening that was automatically applied to the hair before i was able to deactivate smoothening or which is part of "Fit To"
    2. I have to unparent and reparent the hair everytime i apply a new pose

I think i will use the second version.
A big thanks to all of you for helping.

    The problem got worser.
Now it happens not only with the Catwalk hair, but with swords and other parented items as well.

I opened a new thread for this error.
