Chadwick Boseman best known for his portrayal of the MCU character Black Panther passed away at the age of 43, after a 4 year battle with Colon Cancer.. Although I have never seen the film, upon hearing this though it is a shock to see anyone pass away at such a young age, and from such a horrible disease.. RIP..

I'm just in shock. He would have been in treatment for this throughout the filming of Black Panther.

This may sound silly but please increase the fiber and reduce the fat in your diet. I'm guessing that he must have had a genetic risk factor for colon cancer to have developed it at such a young age but for everyone else more fiber less fat will decrease your chances of getting this disease.

My father died of that in his 40s, shortly after I was born.  It happens.  I just watched Boseman in Da 5 Bloods a few weeks ago.  A great talent lost.

What?!  Oh no, that's terrible!  I don't know much about him as a person, but he was great in the Marvel movies.  And so young!  How sad :(

If you haven't seen 21 Bridges or Message From the King (Netflix), do yourself a favour and check them out. He was a powerful presence.

  • First I heard of it. It is a good character and he played it well. It is a shame. Maybe rather that just pretend nothing happened, they can have him die in a heroic fight then have another relative take the mantlel of Black Panther.

This is very sad. He brought a  strong sense of  regal grace and dignity to his character in Black Panther.

    Alex.

unfortunately having someone high profile die of what is a bigger killer than breast cancer third to Lung and prostate might be the only way to get more people to fund research

lung need not be as high as it is if people did not smoke especially around others

I felt shock at first. I loved his work. Then mourned his life, lost to colon cancer. He took me to Wakanda and will live in my heart.

My father had colon cancer in his 60s, survived to live till 80. I am checked for it now. But on CNN a doctor said it is increasing in young adults. Watch for blood in the stool, talk to your doctor. The exam is not hard and only takes a few hours, they have emproved the prep for it. It is your life and your family's you do this for.

    Devastating...

I will be honest, celebrity deaths rarely touch me. But this is really screwing with me.

There is something particularly devastating about losing an artist at the height of their creative output. It feels like he was going to do so much more excellent work. I loved his work as the Black Panther. He brought so much dignity to the role.

As for who will be the next Black Panther (I hope it's not too tacky to think and talk about this...) In-story wise it would make most sense for Letitia Wright to take over the role since her character is next in line for the throne; but personally I hope they can give it to Lupita Nyong'o, who possesses the same sense of dignity, gravitas, and grace.

Yes, cancer is a shame and colon cancer is somewhat common more common of the many types. Condolences to his family and friends.
