[EJ Fantasy Ears For Genesis 8 Males - Where are the sliders?] Title says it all. I have the G8F version, and the sliders are under the shaping tab. But the G8M version doesn't show them. Am I missing something?

Edit: The G8F version sliders are on the Shaping tab, but the G8M ones are on the Parameters tab. Why? I don't know.

  • How did you install?

    Thanks Richard.

I don't remember, though 99% sure it was through DIM. Is there a way to tell?

  • If you look at the product icon in the products tab of Smart Content a DIM (or Daz Central) install will be in colour but will have a solid triangle in a circle at top-right, and if you right-click on it you will see the Install option; If there is no triangle, and right-click has an uninstall option, it was a Connect install.

You should be able to find them in parameters tab /Actor/Head/Ears/Fantasy SciFi/EJ Fantasy Ears

Again, thank you, Richard. I think it was a connect install, then. But what significance has that?

    Thank you.

The only place I get "Ears" at all is directly under the character at /Ears/Fantasy SciFi, but it doesn't have EJ Fantasy Ears. Also, searching for it returns nothing.

At this point, can this be anything other than a QA issue?

If there is a Connect install DS will try to use those files even if you make an instalaltion with DIM/Daz Central/manually, so if there is a problem with the files DS will treat the whole thing as affected. My suspicion would be that the files did not decrypt on installation, trying to uninstall and reinstall through Connect (right-click menu) may help if so. One way to check is to open the log file and see if there are lines complaining about expecting [ or { for files related to the morphs.

  • Hi Richard,

So, I deleted it from DIM, and them also from inside Daz (Connect). Now the ear morphs won't even apply to a new character at all. It just doesn't do anything aside from flashing a dialog that says that the morph was successfully loaded. And still, no slider shows up anywhere in the Shaping tab. But the saved character with the morph already applied loads in and looks fine.

No errors in the log, just success messages related to them; everything looks normal.

    Anything else you can suggest?

  • How did you delete the connect version - uninstall? Which version(s) do you have installed now?

    @Richard Haseltine

Yes, right clicked onthe triangle in the circle, Uninstall. I did that after I had also deleted it in DIM.

I now have only the Connect version installed.

  • If you open the Product in Smart Content do the icons look right?

  • @Richard Haseltine Yes, everything looks fine, as far as I can tell. And today, they apply to a new character fine again, probably just needed to restart DS, but still no sliders.

So, it is just me? @TheKD you see the sliders like you should?

Yeah, but I thought of something. It's quite possible that this set didn't work, but I figured out what was wrong and fixed it myself. There are quite a few things I ended up fixing myself, can't say if this was one of those or not.

Sorry, didn't notice I uploaded the wrong screenshot first time lol. Oh well.

  • This was a PEBKAC. @TheKD Clearly said the Parameters tab, but I was going to the Shaping tab because that's where they are for the G8F version. I'm still going to call that a QA issue, though.

    Thanks to you both.

I dunno why they even put that shaping tab really lol. Just made things more confusing, sometimes things end up in both, sometimes in shaping, sometimes in parameters. Would have been easier on users to only have one place to look, but that's just me. I am a bit of a neat freak when it comes to the virtual world lol.

  • When I think I want to change the "shape" of the ears, I would first think of the "shaping" tab, but like you, I would have settled for just a bit of consistency, if nothing else. Come to think of it, that's where the Morph Importer puts things by default, isn't it? Maybe they just forgot to move it?
